FSU’s Student Government Association Elects New President

Rachael Michalski to Serve Her Peers in Upcoming 23-24 School Year

rachael michalskiRachael Michalski was recently elected as the President of Frostburg State University’s Student Government Association (SGA) for the 23-24 academic school year. Her responsibility as the leader of the SGA Executive Branch will be to oversee the daily operations and act as a liaison between university administration and the student body.

“I am thrilled to be taking on the role of the President of SGA,” says Michalski. “During my term, my ultimate goal is to unify the student body and make sure every student feels heard and represented.” She continued, “Through the leadership skills that I have developed and will continue to strengthen, I am confident that positive change and greatness will be brought to my classmates during my time in office. I am a full and active listener and am excited to serve as an advocate for all students!”

Michalski is very involved and engaged in several organizations at FSU including ECHOSTARS, the Honors Student Association and Alpha Phi Omega. She also had the opportunity to serve as a University System of Maryland Langenberg Legacy Fellow working to encourage students to vote.

“Rachael has quickly emerged as a leader amongst her peers and is often sought out for help and guidance by fellow students,” recalls Patrick O’Brien, FSU Director of Civic Engagement. “I am looking forward to her taking on increasing leadership roles in the organizations she is a part of and continuing to be actively engaged as a student leader on campus and in the community.”

While Michalski is active in a number of things at FSU, she keeps her focus on academics with a double major in Law and Society and Philosophy and a double minor in Spanish and 领导. “She continues to get outstanding grades and I expect nothing less in the upcoming years,奥布莱恩说。.

The SGA at Frostburg develops and administers student self-government policies, provides services to students, communicates with faculty and administration and determines how student activity fees are spent.
