Eagle Scout Alum Dr. 阿蒂特拉维斯 Honored for Achieving Notability in Professional Career

阿蒂特拉维斯Dr. 阿蒂特拉维斯, Vice President for Student Affairs at Frostburg State University, has been awarded the Outstanding Eagle Scout Award upon nomination by the D.C. Chapter of the National Eagle Scout Association and the Boy Scouts of America. This award is granted to Eagle Scouts who distinguish themselves in their life work and who share their talents with their communities on a voluntary basis. 

Dr. 特拉维斯 has distinguished himself through his career as an advocate for all students both in and outside of the classroom and through continued service by following the principles of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. He has met community service needs through voluntary actions. 

The National Eagle Scout Association Committee, as part of 校友 Relations at the Boy Scouts of America’s national office, selects recipients of this award. Dr. 特拉维斯 was chosen because he has achieved notability throughout his career. He served as a Specialist 4th Class in the U.S. Army before choosing to serve students for over 40 years. Dr. 特拉维斯 attended Western Illinois University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Political Science and received his doctoral degree from the University of South Carolina. His dissertation embraced the comparison of leadership styles among senior Student Affairs officers. Additionally, Dr. 特拉维斯 has worked in a multitude of higher education institutions with his career focus always being on cultural diversity, equity and inclusion.

“I believe strongly that the moments in times in my career have been about caring for the students that have impacted my life throughout my career,博士说。. 特拉维斯. “I truly believe that you may never know when a student may catch a dream from you. Sometimes it doesn’t matter at all, but then again you may never know – it might.”

The Outstanding Eagle Scout Award was implemented in 2010 in conjunction with the Boy Scout of America’s 100th anniversary. The local council in the territory of the Eagle Scout’s primary residence has responsibility for nominations.
